I have silver and marbled in my 55g angelfish tank. But the marble hatchet also boasts a subtle rainbow of colors that dresses its stunningly shiny brown body. In general hatchet fish do not have the reputation as being one of the hardier species to keep in the home aquarium but the marble hatchet fish seems to do better than the other hatchet fish. Like other hatchetfish carnegiella strigata has a slender body with a deep belly and pectoral fins set high on the body.

I set the camera high so the view is looking somewhat downwards into the tank. The marble hatchetfish is one uniquely shaped fish that looks goofy with its deep belly and high pectoral fins. This is a true surface dweller fish and can jump so a secure lid is needed. Though they will all happily shoal together they can t interbreed so make sure you have appropriate pairs.
